P3 Day 5 of 25 - Friday, September 23, 2011 – Sorrento

Day 5: Italian Contemporary Society

  

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

Morning:  With some free time available, Carol & I took a city bus "up the hill"  to the city of Sant’Agata sui Di Golfi.  In the evening, we could see the light from a monastery there showing a lighted religious cross that could be seen for miles.

Lunch: Lunch at the hotel.

Afternoon: A brief survey of Italian history from the 1848 independence movement to the present by Michela Porcelli.

Dinner: On our own – went to see and taste the 5 Leva Sisters Restaurant for wonderful seafood and pasta.  Sunset over the water was beautiful  :-)
