P3 Day 17 of 25 - Wednesday, October 5, 2011 – Naples, Italy - Istanbul, Turkey

Day 17: Departure to Istanbul for new adventure

Afternoon: Arrivals. Program overview and welcome at the hotel. Accommodations:  Palazzo Donizetti - in a word Wow!

Dinner: Welcome Dinner at the hotel.

Hotel Donizetti

Palazzo Donizetti is a 5 star boutique Hotel, named after the musician Giuseppe Donizetti who lived in Beyoglu,Istanbul  in the times of the Ottoman Empire, opens an era for your accommodation rituals in Istanbul. Palazzo Donizetti Istanbul is near Istiklal Street, suitable for business and leisure travelers. The luxurious hotel building that was traditionally used as a guesthouse carries footsteps throughout the years, and lives today combining elegance, luxury and comfort.

Glorious Italian Carrera marbles, antique Italian Venetian colors, stained glass lighting in addition to high ceilings with classic motifs and golden foils were used in this historical Hotel. Palazzo Donizetti's 105 year old antique elevator also presents a nostalgic Beyoglu experience as one of the most important 5 star hotels in Taksim.

Our tour guide, Reyan Tuvi, was very helpful in helping us appreciate that even with a 10 day visit, we would still miss many places that were important.  As you see the tour highlights for each day will agree.  Much to see in just a "few" days.

As Reyan would say a few times - remember - Istanbul is unlike most of the remainder of the country.  Lucky we are to spend time in a place the straddles that border of Europe on one side of the Bosporus Strait, with Asia on the other.
