P3 Day 15 of 25 - Monday , October 3, 2011 – Naples

Day 15: Visiting Naples

Holy Toledo  (-:

"Everybody" shops on Via Toledo. A street with hundreds of wonderful stores, that seems to almost go on forever.  The best thing is that most times it is limited to pedestrians only.  In Sorrento, our first city location, it was the Via Corso - also pedestrian friendly each day after 7 p.m. Since I am writing this in a post-trip sense, it was only exceeded by the amount of varied shops and numerous people we joined in Istanbul on Iskitlal Street.  I know, I am getting ahead of myself.

What was really great was going up the many smaller feeder streets that lead to Via Toledo.  As is so often said - you just had to have been there to "really" appreciate it.

Beside being a shoppers paradise - what a place for me to take my snapshots.  Just a block away, parallel to Via Toledo, was a narrow street that mostly only handled motor scooter traffic. Can you imagine doing a slow walk while looking into shop windows, only to have a scooter drive past at a speed we would think illegal.  Carol says that as she dodged one close call, got "nudged" by another driver to her backside.  What a challenge - too exciting!
